Position Summary:

The Analytics Engineer is part of a cross-functional team and is responsible for transforming raw/operational  data from a variety of sources into a business focused technology solution enabling the reporting of KPIs, metrics and insights within Delta Defense. Successful candidates are relentlessly resourceful and can handle complex requests quickly while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build data pipelines that integrate complex and disparate data sources in order to create clean, tested, and reusable datasets ready for analysis.
  • Ensure data quality by creating, maintaining, and enhancing data profiling methodologies.
  • While performing data transformations, ensure adherence of the rules and requirements for the formats and attributes of data.
  • Follow engineering best practices around CI/CD, unit testing, performance testing and optimization.
  • Effective collaboration with Data Architecture to ensure the quality and consistency of the data model.
  • Create clear and effective documentation as needed.
  • Understanding and awareness of best practices related to PII, adherence to Risk policies and standards as set forth by the organization.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Skills/Abilities, Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field; Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science/Analytics, or equivalent relevant experience.

  •  3+ years of SQL experience

  • DBT experience preferred

  • Familiarity with with ETL/ELT methodologies

  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)Experience with with Python and shell scripting a plus

  • Experience with Agile development methods

  • Understanding of Tableau

  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies such as S3, EMR  

  • Demonstrates the Core Values of Delta Defense, LLC
