Position Summary:

The Senior Analytics Engineer is part of a cross-functional team and is responsible for the hands on technical leadership of transforming raw/operational data from a variety of sources into a business focused technology solution enabling the reporting of KPIs, metrics and insights within Delta Defense. Successful candidates are relentlessly resourceful and can handle complex requests quickly while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of data pipelines that integrate complex and disparate data sources in order to create clean, tested, and reusable datasets ready for analysis.
  • Ensure data quality by creating, maintaining, and enhancing data profiling methodologies, along with mentoring junior team members as needed.
  • Contribute to the establishment of standards for performing data transformations, ensure adherence of the rules and requirements for the formats and attributes of data.
  • Enforce the use of engineering best practices around CI/CD, unit testing, performance testing and optimization.
  • Serve as a partner and collaborator with the Data Architecture team to ensure the quality and consistency of the data model.
  • Ensure the consistent creation of clear and effective documentation across the team.
  • Must possess a strong understanding and awareness of best practices related to PII, adherence to Risk policies and standards as set forth by the organization.
  • Serve as a leader of junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship in the development of others.

Skills/Abilities, Experience And Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science/Analytics or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of SQL experience.
  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies such as S3, EMR.
  • Experience with Agile development methods.
  • DBT experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies.
  • Significant experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). 
  • Proficiency with Python and shell scripting a plus.
  • Understanding of Tableau.
  • Demonstrates the Core Values of Delta Defense, LLC
