Equip is a virtual program helping families recover from eating disorders at home with comprehensive, gold-standard care created by experts in the field and people in recovery. Equip’s five-person care teams include dietitians, physicians, therapists, and mentors who deliver wrap-around support to provide families healing and lasting recovery.

We created Equip to increase access to evidence-based treatment for all people affected by eating disorders. About the role:

Data is the backbone of what we are building here at Equip. As our first analytics engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data layer for our modern analytics stack. You consider yourself part data engineer, part data analyst, and as such your responsibilities will span from organizing raw data all the way to providing clean, organized and sometimes analyzed data for business stakeholders. You are well adept in software engineering practices and believe version control, CI and testing are core to building out a well architected data stack.

What you will do:

  • Ensure our data infrastructure delivers data to analytics and business systems reliably
  • Model our data for easy use by every team in the company
  • Work with product and marketing team members to help them understand their data so we can build the right experience for practitioners and patients
  • Expand our data infrastructure as necessary to ensure that the team can derive insights and analysis from new and existing data analysis tools
  • Working closely with our clinical data team to enhance our data platform and design our business logic layer for KPIs
  • Help drive optimization, documentation, testing and tooling to improve data quality and give more autonomy to data analysts, scientists and business users
  • 3+ years of experience working in an product analytical team with the ability to independently own a project from requirements gathering, through development, to delivery & presentation to stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with coursework in computer science, statistics, econometrics, physics, or other applied math disciplines
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • You are proficient in SQL
  • You can analyze data using at least 1 other programming language (Python preferred)
  • You have experience with modern, cloud based BI platforms such as Mode, Looker, Power BI, Qlik, Tableau
  • You are fluent with software development processes like version control, code reviews, data orchestration
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative startup environment

Bonus if you have the following:

  • Experience working in healthcare-related industry preferred
  • Experience working with AWS (S3, Glue, Athena)
  • Experience using DBT (data build tool) for transforming data
