Equip is a virtual program helping families recover from eating disorders at home with comprehensive, gold-standard care created by experts in the field and people in recovery. Equip’s five-person care teams include dietitians, physicians, therapists, and mentors who deliver wrap-around support to provide families healing and lasting recovery.

We created Equip to increase access to evidence-based treatment for all people affected by eating disorders. In line with this mission, we are committed to partnering closely with insurance companies and ensuring our team, patients, treatment, and brand reflect the diversity of those affected by eating disorders.

About the role:

We are seeking exciting and qualified candidates for Equip’s summer research internship program, data analyst track. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who are interested in graduate school or a career working with data, particularly in healthcare.

Equip’s summer research internship is an 8-12 week paid internship program designed to give candidates an opportunity to gain experience and practice skills in research and data analysis. Candidates will work directly with Equip’s research department in carrying out our mission to not only improve access to treatment and to pioneer new research to improve long-lasting recovery.

The intern will design or pick their own analysis project using our existing data for the 8-12 week term. Along with new analysis skills, the intern will learn to write an analysis plan, carry-out that plan, and present findings to our research group. The intern is encouraged to present these findings at conferences. A successful research project will not only have a clear goal and scope, but advance our mission to advance eating disorder research. Interns will receive hands-on experience, training, and mentorship throughout the project, and will meet regularly with members of the research team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design an analysis plan for a research project
  • Implement the analysis plan in Python or R
  • Writing a report based on the findings, and present it to the research team
  • Attend data and research meetings
  • Collaborate with the research team on existing projects
  • Candidates must have completed at least three years of college/university in preparation for a bachelor’s degree. Position is also open to post-baccs, current graduate students, or individuals interested in a career transition
  • Must have taken courses in Research Methods, Probability, or Statistics (or an equivalent course) or some job experience in these areas
  • Must know at least one of the following: Python, R, SQL, and a willingness to learn

Bonus if you have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Passion for mental health and eating disorder treatment and expanding access to treatment

Competitive salaries and bonuses, flexible hours from home, flexible time-off, health benefits, career development opportunities, and exciting team retreats are among the myriad benefits you'll experience while working at Equip.

Equip is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
