In order to facilitate the firsthand mission, we are building data pipelines, and analytics to deliver trusted and actionable insights that help our markets serve individuals living with SMI at scale. Our technology team supports our team of peers, social workers, and nurse practitioners to plan appropriate care and focus on critical tasks rather than manual inefficient activities. This is a unique opportunity to do greenfield development at a stage where you can make a massive impact on foundational technology and shape our culture as a data driven organization. You will be building impactful healthcare technology on a modern stack.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will:

    • Build lasting data modeling solutions, including automating analyses and authoring pipelines via SQL-based ETL frameworks
    • Develop data models and schemas that enable performant and intuitive analysis in a Data Warehouse setting
    • Communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders like Data Scientists, our Product team and clinicians to produce requirements and detailed designs
    • Help operations and clinical managers build data-driven processes
    • Invest in end-user data literacy through hands-on training with folks around the company
    • Enable teams to self serve data analytics needs by transforming data into useful formats and documenting data models using tools like Secoda
    • Validate incoming data to ensure usability, map it to platform specifications and perform verification

You will be a good fit if you have:

    • Experience with clinical medical records such as problem lists, medications and notes
    • Experience with data modeling such as transforming data interchange formats like FHIR into an analytics schema
    • Rich SQL experience
    • Experience building reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools
    • Interest in working at a small, rapidly-changing, fast-paced startup environment

The experience you bring to this role includes:

    • You have 2+ years of relevant experience in healthcare analytics.
    • Familiarity with dbt required.
This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position reporting to the Head of Engineering.  firsthand cares deeply about ensuring pay equity with every team member who joins. The expected range for this role’s base salary is $120,000 to $150,000.
