Our Opportunity:

Carewell is looking for an Analytics Engineering Manager to own and develop the foundations of our data engineering function. We’re looking for a true leader that can create a vision and strategy for data architecture and quality, then execute that vision across all departments including marketing, merchandising, and customer care. This person will be a true leader on the Carewell team and drive our critical business decisions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about enabling stakeholders to get the most from their data and analytics, and enjoys cross-functional collaboration as well as making a significant impact across total Carewell. They’ll be a critical partner to building a data-first culture and aligning the full company to the value of data.

Responsibilities:

  • Inform architectural decisions, establish best practices, develop lean scalable processes and operationalize the overall direction of the data organization at Carewell
  • Develop and execute a roadmap to build and optimize foundational data sets/models 
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify opportunities to improve infrastructure and influence short, medium and long-term roadmaps and strategy 
  • Deliver analytics tools including dashboards, reports, and other data products that enable stakeholders to self-serve
  • Frame and present data-driven stories to senior audiences and cross-functional groups
  • Balance leadership and execution; spend 50% of time managing and 50% on execution

What you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of experience in designing, developing and maintaining robust data models off of structured and unstructured data
  • 1+ years of experience managing a small, nimble team, or experience as a project leader where you have oversight and accountability
  • Experience building ETL and data pipelines, including:
    • Gathering raw data at scale by writing scripts, web scraping, calling APIs, etc 
    • Familiarity with dimensional data modeling concepts and modern data architectures (e.g Data Lakes,Data Marts, Data warehousing)
  • Experience with BigQuery SQL, Looker, Airflow, Google DataStudio
  • Programming experience with at least one language such as Python, Scala or R
  • Strong professional communication skills with both technical & non-technical audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline

  • Support press initiatives with high level data

  • This is a full-time, salaried role without specific, set hours.
