ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re seeking a talented Analytics Lead to join our growing team. This is a critical and highly visible analytics leadership role. You’ll lead our transition to a modern, advanced data stack and best-in-class analytics function. You’re a builder at heart who will enable analysts and business users access to the data they need to make critical business decisions. You may describe yourself as an “analytics engineer” and are excited to bring those principles to a growth stage company. This role reports to the Head of Marketing & Analytics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enable data access by providing clean, tested, well-documented and well-modelled data sets that will enable and empower analysts and business users. 
  • Support and own the end-to-end data modeling process - from gathering business requirements to designing data models, raw data ingestion, writing production-quality ELT code, and cleaning and aggregating data using ELT principles
  • Own and lead further adoption of our internal BI tool
  • Lead Point’s transition to a modern, advanced data stack built on top of Snowflake
  • Conduct data analyses to that help us make key business decisions in a data-driven way
  • Build and lead a team of data analysts over time

ABOUT YOU

  • Several (8-15) years of experience in an analytics engineering or data analytics leadership role in tech (bonus points for financial services experience)
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining a modern data stack (e.g., cloud data warehouse; data pipeline tools such as Fivetran/Stitch; BI tools such as Looker/Mode; data transformation tools such as dbt/Dataform). 
  • You bring a thoughtful perspective on what data stack is most appropriate for Point
  • You’re a builder at heart. You’re excited by the prospect of helping us build best-in-class analytics infrastructure.
  • Strong analytical abilities. You’re a SQL whiz, can build complex spreadsheet models, and have experience with Python/R.
  • Very structured and detail-oriented. You can excel in the nitty-gritty details of our data schema.
  • Clear verbal and written communicator of complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Player-coach who can execute, be a strong people manager, and collaborate effectively cross-functionally.

Family Friendly
Point will top off California PFL earnings to full salary for up to eight weeks, as well as two weeks of fully paid leave to be available after exhaustion of CA PFL. An employee can take reasonable vacation time in addition to the California PFL leave. For employees outside CA, Point will top of PFL earnings in accordance with the state applicable leave laws. 

Work From Home Stipends
With employees working remotely, Point will provide employees a $50 monthly cell phone stipend and a $50 monthly internet stipend. In addition, we will reimburse up to $150 to help you purchase supplies for your home office.
