The Insights Team is responsible for driving forward our strategy using data and insights to inform key decisions and drive business growth. We’re making data at the heart of what we do as a business, and we look to embed insights and dashboards into daily decision making, as core drivers of competitive advantage for Zigzag Global.

We are building a world-class end to end data platform based on modern cloud-based technologies that can support leveraging insights at scale. We are looking for someone who can work effectively in a team of analysts to drive forward insights to better inform our clients and internal business decisions. A person who enjoys collaborating and providing insights to stakeholders to make better informed decisions.

The Associate Insights Analyst role will support multiple verticals of the business including Client Success, Commercial, Marketing and Finance to play a significant role in understanding client returns and business performance.

  • Working with a senior team member to help craft analysis, generate reports and create presentations
  • Ability to work on a couple of deliverables in tandem
  • Contribute to core deliverables as directed in sprint and team
  • Using tools such as SQL to generating insights that gives a well-rounded view of return drivers with analysis on retailer, carrier performance and customer behaviours to support business’ understanding of short and mid-term performance
  • Discern patterns and assist identifying data anomalies and outliers that can assist in the development of KPIs and key results
  • Supporting on the development of analysis and statistical models, and reports that answer core questions on customer behaviours and intent and retailer performance. e.g., customer segmentations, return efficiency and optimisation, client churn prediction analysis, predicting in-transit volume, etc.
  • Working against defined criteria to deliver insights to aid decisions and support product development
  • Support on documentation and on communication with data and insights team members.

  • Contribute to a supportive team environment and community
  • Work with multiple stakeholders and on multiple projects effectively and feeds back outcomes to project manager
  • Experience collaborating as part of a wider team to build analytical models and develop data products
  • Clear verbal and written skills
  • Some experience with the following: SQL querying, Python, Tableau and Excel
  • A passion for working with data, to glean customer insights and making a data-led decisions happen
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis techniques and quantitative methods
  • Awareness around AB testing concepts
  • Ability to documents analysis, methods, and outputs in an easy-to-understand manner in accordance with our documentation standards

Nice to Have

  • Commercial acumen in eCommerce and returns key performance indicator
  • Familiar with customer return concepts and KPIs
  • Experience working in the retail, eCommerce or SAAS analytics space
  • Experience around at least one of the following: testing, optimisation, statistics, data vis, tagging or reporting
  • Some awareness of agile practices - Scrum, Kanban, Jira, iterative development, etc.
