Position Summary: 
Wonderschool is harnessing the power of technology to provide comprehensive support to child care providers operating out of their homes as well as in the government and non-profit sectors. Our products enable child care providers to create high-quality environments and meet the demands of their business, while also helping parents in need of childcare solutions through the creation of an accessible marketplace.

We are looking for a BI analyst (remote) to join our growing data team to develop a rich data warehouse of clean, well-modeled data, supporting our internal partners with quality dashboards and responding to company decision-makers with timely, accurate reporting.  You will utilize SQL queries and business intelligence tools to model, filter and display data for optimal clarity and usefulness.  As a successful BI analyst, you will not only utilize Wonderschool’s existing tools and reporting protocols but since we are a small, rapidly growing startup you will also explore new business insights and will implement models and tools that bring the Wonderschool vision to life.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing BI tools and dashboards, as well as evaluate and select new BI tools as needed
  • Build maintainable dashboards using BI software for internal Wonderschool stakeholders
  • Help build external analytics as a service for our childcare network clients to provide critical insights into the U.S. childcare marketplace
  • Help administer connections between data sources to our data warehouse
  • Work with partners to ingest data as needed
  • Respond to data requests from stakeholders across the organization
  • Proactively identify business insights to help drive Wonderschool’s product and growth strategy

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of relevant professional experience as a data analyst, business intelligence analyst or similar
  • Previous experience with:
    • Advanced SQL for data modeling and reporting
    • Relational databases (we use Postgres)
    • Data Warehouses (We use BigQuery)
    • ETL tools (We use Zapier and Stitch)
  • Familiarity with BI/Analytics tools (Looker, Sisense, Tableau, etc.)
  • Fully owning and delivering data analysis features end to end, from requirements analysis and task breakdown to milestone definition and delivery
  • Working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers and customer success to ensure data infrastructure meets current and future business needs.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience at a company building consumer web applications
  • Previous experience working with high-growth startups
  • Previous experience working with engineering teams developing SaaS products
  • Working with a distributed team
  • Writing high-quality, readable, maintainable SQL code.  Code samples or a link to a GitHub repository submitted with a resume are a big plus
  • Experience with Segment, Hubspot, Amplitude, Stripe
  • Project tracking using Jira
