SemanticBits is looking for a talented Business Analyst with experience analyzing users’ needs and working as part of a product delivery team to ensure that the product and associated business processes meet those needs. You will be part of a dynamic team using modern, Cloud-native technologies to deliver a Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse (DW) solution to healthcare analysts. This position is targeted to senior professionals, preferably with experience delivering BI and DW solutions.

Responsibilities:

    • Conduct user research, draft user stories and meet with users to validate and enhance them
    • Breakdown the roadmap into epics and group user stories under them
    • Work with the Scrum Master, customers and developers to write user stories which are independent, negotiable, valuable, estimable, small and testable
    • Responsible for ensuring user stories include validation criteria which reasonably covers all areas necessary for complete testing of the new functionality
    • Act as an interface and customer advocate to ensure customer, stakeholder and user needs are being addressed
    • Collaborate with and support developers during their design and development efforts to provide support for their analysis of the story
    • Provide additional support and guidance to clients during the implementation phase to include development of training resources
    • Participate as a member of the product delivery team
    • Validate that product deliveries meet customer requirements and drive product demos
    • Represent the customer and users during backlog grooming sessions and internal demosImprove and expand knowledge and skill sets with regard to current trends and changes in software development industry and be up to date with latest design trends
    • Proactively contribute to the quality of the product by seeking and proposing new or alternative approaches to address the requirementsParticipate in Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Scrum Meetings and other agile activities
    • Act as primary point of contact for product support issues
    • Triage and direct support requestsCoordinate external communication of downtime or data quality issues
    • Coordinate Education and Outreach (E&O) and Data Governance activities
    • Contribute to product documentation

Qualifications:

    • Experience as a Business Analyst on an agile software development teamBS or BA degree
    • Expertise with JIRA, Confluence, and the rest of the Atlassian suite
    • Experience in Human Centered Design approach for developing digital services
    • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
    • Candidate must reside in the United States
    • Bachelor's degree in technological or related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years experience
    • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Data Governance projects/solutions
    • Experience working in the healthcare industry
    • Federal Government contracting work experience
    • Prior experience working remotely full-time
