CircleCI is looking for a Business Analyst to support the Revenue team in driving intelligence across our planning, forecasting and territory management. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for providing reports and generating data driven insights to accelerate our sales and customer success business. You must be a self-starter who thrives in the face of an ever-changing startup environment. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong analytical and operational skills, is technically savvy, and an Excel wizard comfortable managing, reconciling, and analyzing large data sets from multiple systems with precision. You should feel excited and passionate about representing the needs of the sales and customer success business while working across various other departments (Finance, Data, Marketing, Product).

This role reports into the Director of Revenue Operations, will work closely with analysts across the company, Revenue & Marketing stakeholders, Data/Product Engineering, and Finance. You will have an immediate impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of the client-facing business. What you'll do:

  • Support a regular weekly, monthly and quarterly cadence around planning, forecasting, opportunity progression, pipeline management, Territory analysis and business reviews for CircleCI leadership
  • Support GTM planning and reporting through market segmentation, territory modeling, customer book analysis, quota/incentive analysis, data reconciliation and cleanup  
  • Partner with sales and customer success leaders to design territories, allocate quotas, set metrics, and deliver productivity targets
  • Ad hoc business analysis - manage large data exports from multiple systems, produce analysis, and provide actionable insights to optimize sales and customer success effectiveness
  • Partnering with Deal Desk to analyze commercial deals, including credit for quota retirement and best deals for the business/salesperson
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards to ensure visibility and insights for stakeholders and sales team members for activity, pipeline and performance against goals
  • Deliver data-driven analysis and actionable insight for the Sales and Customer Success teams in the core areas of sales ramp, productivity, and retention
  • Customer cohort analysis, including NPS, spend, product usage, risk/health metrics
  • Align with (and learn from) cross-functional partners in Finance, Data Science, Sales Comp, CRM, and more
  • Ensure accuracy of all relevant client and sales pipeline information in Salesforce
  • Maintain processes focused on data integrity working in conjunction with the Salesforce technical team, Marketing Operations and the Data Engineering team

What we're looking for:

  • Exceptional analytical skills with Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets - ability to manage, manipulate, reconcile, and cleanup complex data sets from multiple systems
  • Strong experience with Salesforce reporting and dashboards and other sales and customer success tools
  • Strong experience with querying/reporting via SQL, Python and SOQL (Salesforce) and BI Tools (Looker) is a plus!
  • Good understanding of SaaS sales processes and Salesforce data model
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technical teams, executives, and sales management, in-person and across digital channels
  • You thrive in an agile work environment that requires flexibility and self-direction
  • You are well organized, manage your time well, and are attentive to detail, meeting deadlines and juggling priorities
  • Willingness to take on big challenges and own the results from brainstorm to execution
  • 1+ years experience in an analytics role in a fast-paced environment like tech, consulting, finance, strategy, etc
  • 1+ years experience with CRM systems
  • Advanced Spreadsheet skills with experience manipulating large data sets
  • Experience presenting complex information in an understandable and compelling manner using a Business Intelligence tool like Looker
  • Detail-oriented technical aptitude with strong logical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Great work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
