About the role:
The Business Intelligence Analyst role is part business analyst and part data engineer. The role engages with stakeholders across departments to understand their workflows, helps define their metrics, and identify cross-functional dependencies and gaps, such as between financial and GTM metrics, product analytics and customer health, etc. In parallel, the role explores and understands the relationships between source data, cleans, transforms and models data using SQL, and builds out comprehensive Tableau dashboards for use across the company.
The role is positioned as an intermediary between Engineering/Product teams and Finance/Commercial, leveraging your deep knowledge of our data and business to produce meaningful insights and KPIs. Beyond making recommendations on which metrics to track,the role is expected to build out the necessary data models in SQL and visualize them on Tableau.
Responsibilities:
Own every aspect of your assigned metrics and dashboards from data collection, refresh cadence, aggregations, calculation logic, and visuals. Answer end-user questions, anticipate dependencies and impact from other workstreams, troubleshoot or refactor as needed.
Work cross-functionally with Data Engineering, Finance, Accounting, and Operations to identify source of truth data, codify business rules, and build out data models to track and measure our core metrics
Optimize the capture and reliability of manual data sources
Proactively identify the need for data model customizations - SCDs, snapshots, incremental models, etc.
Translate plain-English stakeholder requirements into technical specs and action items
Translate technical processes and limitations to non-technical users
Qualifications:
3+ years experience in a data engineering or data analyst role
1+ years experience working with a BI tool (ideally Tableau)
Excellent SQL and data comprehension skills; not only writing complex SQL scripts but also optimizing existing queries and data models for a production environment
Excellent knowledge of data warehouse development lifecycle best practices
Good knowledge of dbt/data modeling concepts like snapshots, incremental models, etc.
Experience using git and other command line tools to automate data pipelines
Demonstrated experience working with business partners turning their objectives into KPIs and visualizations that provide insight and improve operations
Self-starter, able to work under tight timetables and high-pressure situations, fluidly shift with changing priorities, and effectively handle ambiguity
Experience building and presenting dashboards to a mixed audience - technical/non-technical, executive/operational, etc.
Familiarity with SaaS systems (and associated data) like Netsuite, Salesforce, IronClad, Workday. etc.
Salary Disclosure:
Base Salary range: $100,000-116,000
This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job related factors. Socure's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, equity, comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
