So, what’s the role?

As a Business Intelligence Analyst you will be a critical part of the growth and expansion of Kin Insurance. You will be responsible for the data & analytics for the Operations, Product and Marketing departments. You will work with internal leadership and assist in defining and structuring critical reporting to measure success. You will collaborate with Engineering to ingest, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources and deliver actionable insights to audiences of varying expertise.

A day in the life could include: 

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis, identify root causes of business trends through data, collaborate and formulate conclusions and recommendations
  • Be a key player in structuring an optimized plan of action to deliver comprehensive BI solutions across growth and profit initiatives
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable analytical tools, dashboards, and metrics that drive crucial decisions
  • Use analytics tools to monitor performance of new initiatives and communicate recommendations to management

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of professional work experience in a data-centric role
  • Technical Requirements: Intermediate SQL skills in a work setting environment (proven track record to independently query data from disparate sources), Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, vLookup, Index/Match, Power Query, etc.) 
  • Strong business acumen to make sense of and bring logic to data 
  • Highly skilled in data visualization using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.  
  • Experience working in cloud-based data warehouse environments (Redshift, AWS, Snowflake, Azure, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Interest or experience in highly regulated and / or startup environment(s)

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with advanced Looker development is highly desirable.
  • Experience in programming in R or Python 
  • Experience analyzing and reporting on Sales and Customer Service data sets a plus i.e. call management data (e.g. Five9, Cisco) and CRM data (e.g. Kustomer)
  • Familiarity with ETL processes
  • Airflow experience 
  • Experience working in the Insurance Industry
