Intro and job overview: 

DataOps is responsible for the continuous improvement and utilization of Precisely’s data in Salesforce, NetSuite, and other enterprise systems. The primary responsibilities for this position are to help deliver a BI Center of Excellence focused on teaching and sharing while fostering a positive and supportive space within the community. This position, along with their team, is responsible for the overall development, delivery, maintenance, continuity and support of our reporting and insights systems. Additionally, the role will be charged with working across teams to understand and visualize data from enterprise systems such as our CRM, ERP, procurement, HR and financial planning applications.

As a member of the DataOps and Enterprise Architecture team, this role will collaborate with BI Developers, Enterprise Architects, Business Systems Analysts, Data Engineers as well as business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong foundational technology, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, and the willingness and ability to quickly learn functions and interfaces of a variety of different tools and systems.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Help deliver a BI Center of Excellence focused on teaching and sharing
  • Develops reports and dashboards that provide information for decision making, leveraging the data warehouse and other backend data sources for business reporting needs.
  • Build and publish customized interactive Tableau reports and dashboards, as well as manage extracts and refresh schedules using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Cloud.
  • Execute data queries across multiple data sources in support of business intelligence reporting needs.
  • Participate in QA testing, liaising with other project team members and being responsive to business users needs, all with an eye on details in a fast-paced environment.
  • This person will work to make sure creators/viewers are well positioned with the training and knowledge needed to effectively use the systems and insights to their fullest.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1 year of Tableau development experience
  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL and relational databases
  • Experience in developing low-latency, reliable reports; designing with data visualization best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and plan their own work, while aligning with project priorities and changes to priorities
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies as needed
  • Creative, collaborative thinker with an ability to learn new things, assess problems and identify proactive solutions quickly
  • Self-starter, comfortable leading change and getting things done
