The Zippin platform-as-a-service provides a checkout-free solution for all kinds of stores, transportation hubs, sports arenas, business and university dining locations, and any other physical retail space. Shoppers are able to walk in the store, pick up what they want, and then leave. We use machine learning, computer vision, and sensor fusion to automatically charge shoppers when they walk out—a paradigm shift in the shopper experience, with no lines.

In August of 2021, we closed a $30 million Series B funding round with participation from new and existing investors including OurCrowd, Maven Ventures, Evolv Ventures and SAP. This new round brings Zippin’s total funding to more than $45 million. This round comes on the heels of significant progress we’ve made in recent months, including signing numerous new accounts, launching multiple new public checkout-free stores, and further solidifying their leading technology within the future of retail.

Zippin is looking for a Business Strategy Analyst for our Business Intelligence team, reporting to our Director of Business Intelligence.

While your exact purview will depend on your strengths, you may be responsible for client reporting such as stewarding our dashboard reporting system and API, identifying and incorporating external data into our data warehouse, developing and managing custom reports and exports, creating predictive modeling, advising customers on improving their store performance, and conducting periodic business reviews.

Your work with internal stakeholders may include visibility and analysis in areas such as KPI reporting, data-driven prioritization of tech development and enhancements, monitoring key tech capabilities, creating proactive alerts to keep the business running smoothly, identifying patterns among store types, and measuring ROI.

This position can be remote in the US or Toronto, Canada.

Requirements

    • 2-4 years as an analyst in consulting, investment banking, or as a business analyst
    • Proficient with Python and Pandas (or similar), SQL, and spreadsheets
    • Highly skilled at analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions
    • Some experience developing automation: apps, pipelines, and/or containers
    • Knowing how much time to invest in a project to make it the most efficient
    • Good at prioritizing work in cases when you have a backlog
    • Great at working with multiple stakeholders and at communicating with customers

    • Experience using effective data visualization techniques and tools
    • Analysis of customer or other behavioral data
    • Experience working with evolving datasets
    • Economic consulting background
    • Skilled at generating process documentation
    • Experience working in a tech startup
