About the Role:

Cars.com is seeking a passionate, data savvy Analyst to join the Fuel team and fuel our mission of growth through data-driven insights and opportunity discovery. In this dynamic role you will become an integral part of the FUEL product team, leveraging our marketing and site data assets to tell compelling stories and drive the innovation and development of our various offerings. You will also enable stakeholders with actionable, intuitive measurement & performance reporting that provides the business with the insights to grow. The ideal candidate will have a robust mix of technical and communication skills, with a passion for optimization, data storytelling, and data visualization. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key influencer to the company’s strategic decisions around one of our most exciting and fastest growing products.

Your day-to-day:

  • Synthesize data from our digital analytics tools and data lake into actionable insights about shopper behavior, media performance, and customer value delivery. Clearly communicate these recommendations to internal stakeholders. 
  • Actively participate in cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with team members to achieve and measure project success. Provide measurement plans, dashboards, analysis, and insights
  • Create compelling, intuitive dashboards to enable the business with critical metrics, with a focus on data automation, anomaly detection, and actionable data visualizations.
  • Extract and analyze data through Google BigQuery, Google Analytics, Tableau, and SQL
  • Work with marketing and product teams to develop insights and recommendations about campaign performance, optimization, opportunities, and channel growth opportunities

Experience & Education:

  • 2+ years professional experience as a data analyst (required)
  • 1+ years professional experience working with digital marketing data & measurement
  • Digital analytics and reporting experience (required)
  • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling a plus

Required Technical Skills:

Advanced skills and knowledge of the following:

  • Digital analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics. Experience working with raw clickstream data a plus (Adobe or Google BigQuery).
  • SQL
  • Data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Google Data Studio

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience with accessing platform APIs (Google, Facebook, TradeDesk)
  • Experience with common marketing models (MTA, CLTV)
  • Familiarity with creating data schemas and managing database tables
