Overview

We are hiring Data Analysts as part of Path’s Analytics team. Data Analysts partner with the Business Operations team and Functional Leaders across the company to drive the analytical work for our high-priority focus areas. Data Analysts are responsible for descriptive, exploratory, and diagnostic analysis, including building dashboards, conducting ad hoc analysis, and helping define metrics we should focus on to measure performance.

What you will be doing

  • Partner with Business Operations Leads and Functional Leaders to develop analysis plans/roadmaps, and then lead execution from data collection, cleaning, analysis, and synthesis
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define the metrics that matter
  • Build and maintain weekly/monthly Operational Reporting, Executive Dashboards and other analyses that will help company leadership understand performance
  • Conduct diagnostic analysis to surface root causes for changes in key metrics
  • Define requirements for Analytics Engineering needed to support more scalable reporting and analysis in your focus area

What we’re looking for

  • Expert user of SQL (joins, aggregations, ctes, window functions) with strong proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel and Looker (LookML is a plus) or other data visualization tools
  • A structured problem solver that can take ambiguous or open-ended questions and break them down into discrete hypotheses and analysis plans
  • High focus to detail, including knowing explicit and implicit assumptions used in analyses and how that can change the answer
  • Passion for simplifying complex analyses and questions through data visualization best practices
  • Business minded in how you approach problems and are eager to understand what the data means from the context of business objectives and customer outcomes
  • The ability to balance speed and rigor – knowing how and when to use simpler, cut-through solutions versus higher complexity and more robust analyses or models
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a high growth/rapidly changing environment
