Role/Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation by developing new methodologies, statistical techniques, and causal-inference approaches that could better inform the decision-making process.
  • Partner with product, business and strategy teams to leverage this user understanding for product improvements and other initiatives
  • Develop key metrics for measuring the success of product features and user experience.
  • Applying various data science methods such as causal inference, experiments, machine learning, modeling, and forecasting to understand the most important aspects of our product, users, and business.
  • Define data requirements and drive the development of data pipelines.
  • Create advanced dashboards for product experiment tracking and business unit performance analysis using Tableau/Python/R
  • The ability to clearly and effectively communicate the results of complex analysis to a broad audience

Requirements

  • A quantitative degree in a field like Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of professional industry experience doing quantitative analysis. 
  • Experience building metric frameworks to understand user behaviors.
  • Expert in SQL, data collection and instrumentation, data modeling/transformation skill, and visualization/reporting knowledge.
  • Deep experience in applied data analysis, including A/B testing and observational causal inference methods
  • Experience with data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling tools and underlying algorithms
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R
  • Proven record in setting and executing analytic plans to meet business priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey technical principles to non-technical audiences

Preferred

  • Advanced degrees in quantitative fields.
  • Experience in mobile application and consumer software industry.
  • Team player - frequent collaborations with teams across two office locations.
  • Able to work in fast-paced start-up environments.
