Smule today has millions of monthly active users and is still growing at a fast pace. We’re looking for a seasoned product leader to develop and execute our content roadmap. This includes improving our Styles feature and Style Studio application while executing a strategy for delivering and curating content across our global network. 

 

We're looking for a high-performing Analytics Manager who's interested in the growing cloud data ecosystem and knows how to manage people, advance strategy, and maintain team focus all at once. This role requires impeccable communication skills and the ability to drive impact across a multinational organization. You will have a team of analysts and help them develop professionally while delivering strategic and high-quality work. In technical terms, the role requires a mastery of SQL, data modeling and transformation, A/B testing, and an ability to clearly convey business insights to important stakeholders.

 

Role/Responsibilities

 

  • Lead a team of 5+ data analysts. Oversee their workload, performance and ensure the quality of deliverables. 
  • Provide stakeholders (product, marketing, finance) with concise reports that include clear actionable insights.
  • Experience analyzing and manipulating data sets (with spreadsheets, dashboarding tool, R, or Python) to understand patterns and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop key metrics for measuring the success of product features and user experience.
  • Apply fundamental statistical hypotheses and experimental design techniques to test new product features.
  • Define data requirements and drive the development of data pipelines.

 

Requirements

  • A quantitative degree in a field like Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Engineering. 
  • 5+ years in analytics, with experience leading, coaching and managing an analytics team.
  • Experience building metric frameworks to understand user behaviors.
  • Expert in SQL, data collection and instrumentation, data modeling/transformation skill, and visualization/reporting knowledge.
  • Experience in a scripting language like Python or R.
  • Solid theoretical and practical understanding of statistical frequentist testing framework and experiment design principles. 
  • Proven experience managing shifting priorities, while maintaining organization and control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey technical principles to non-technical audiences

 

Preferred

  • Advanced degrees in quantitative fields.
  • Experience in statistical modeling and machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, content recommenders.
  • Experience in mobile application and consumer software industry.
  • Team player - frequent collaborations with teams across two office locations.
  • Able to work in fast-paced start-up environments.
