Data Analyst

The U.S. Center for SafeSport is a non-profit organization focused on ending all forms of abuse in sport. We endeavor to make athlete well-being the centerpiece of the nation’s sports culture through abuse prevention, education, and accountability.

POSITION SUMMARY


We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and creative data analyst. Particularly, experience with with mixed- method (qualitative and quantitative), value based, participatory, and collaborative evaluation and analysis experience. This position will support the Director of Research, Evaluation, working both internally and with external entities and datasets.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES AT SAFESPORT

You’ll leverage both quantitative and qualitative data to discover deeper insights around sexual, emotional and physical abuse within sport, and the efforts we can enact to further our mission and support positive social change. You’ll help us understand our program operations and make data-informed decisions across the organization through your analysis, presentations, reports, and other deliverables. You’ll demonstrate critical thought to leverage and create data deliverables responsibly, balancing adaptiveness to various deliverables in a systematic and organized structure, shifting from cross-collaborative to individually-focused solutions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide analytical insights (quantitative and qualitative) from internal and external datasets to support our program areas
  • Handle data ‘end-to-end’, from scope to analysis/reports/dashboards, presentations and ongoing maintenance.
  • Enable self-serviceability and other efficiencies throughout our usage of data.
  • Work with our Technology team to assist in our overall data architecture design.
  • Support the creation of mixed-method collection systems such as surveys, focus groups, and interviews
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, scheduled reports, dashboards and reporting for data integrity
  • Effectively tailor and deliver data insights to a variety of audiences.
  • Support efforts around international partnerships, working groups, and other special projects
  • Support federal grant reporting
  • Contribute towards our cultural awareness, connectedness, and diversity efforts by building relationships across the organization; participate and support related activities.


COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES


  • Demonstrated ability to manage analytical projects from requirement gathering to presentation and reporting.
  • Understanding of participatory and values-oriented evaluation work
  • Knows how to build out data dashboards and/or how to use dashboards to pull and manage data
  • Interest in non-traditional forms of knowledge dissemination
  • Knowledge and/or experience with data-centric services in AWS and similar cloud infrastructure platforms.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS


  • 5+ years applied work experience in the field of data analysis; or Bachelors Degree + 2yrs applied experience.
    • Master’s Degree a plus.
  • Hands-on experience working with large scale data sets, knowledge of logic modeling, and experience in mixed-method data collection and evaluation.
  • Leveraged industry-standard tools, including:
    • R or SPSS, Excel, or other quantitative analysis programs
    • BI/Visual Analytics: Looker (preferred), Tableau, Atlas, or similar.
    • NVivo, Atlas, or similar.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE


  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive data; data related to minors and or sexual abuse/domestic violence survivors is preferred
  • Experience training or supporting evaluation capacity development


WORK REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENT


  • Standard office equipment
  • Office environment in multi-story, dog-friendly building
  • Some night and weekend work hours
  • Some overnight travel required

WORK LOCATION – Denver, CO; or remote.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000, and will be commensurate with background and experience.
