We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, research, and the data team to better understand the needs and usage patterns of our members, measure the outcomes of experiments, forecast the impact of new product features, and build tooling and novel analytics that enable Rocket Money to make better decisions.
ABOUT THE ROLE 🤹♀️
In this role, you will focus on the following types of problems:
- Working with our product and finance teams to help strike the balance of product engagement, financial viability, and consumer fairness for our credit card product
- Collaborating with product on experimental design as well as helping lead analysis, interpret results, and communicate recommendations based on your findings
- Partnering with our finance team by analyzing data and using your business acumen to identify ways for us to improve our operational efficiency
- Working with product and marketing to map our member journey and identify ways to better introduce new members to the Rocket Money product
Regardless of the challenges you dive into, you will:
- Build strong relationships with other teams at the company and help them answer business questions with insights from our data
- Partner with our Analytics Engineering team on turning questions we’d like to answer about our data into technical requirements that should exist in a data mart
- Become an expert on our members: understanding their needs and financial goals and work with the data team to measure both their progress and ours
- Be a steward of good measurement and experimental design - designing analyses, dashboards, data sets and tooling in such a way that they are testable, repeatable and robust
- Maintain a high technical bar by participating in code reviews, data model and technical design discussions and focusing on the maintaining a high degree of quality in our production data
ABOUT YOU 🦄
- You have 2+ years of experience as an analyst
- You are able to use your intuition and analytical know how to figure out if a flow is broken, break down if a feature is or is not working as intended, etc.
- You can think through experimental design and analysis, even if it isn’t something you have had a chance to do yet
- You care about the why of the problem you're solving as much as the what and how. You need to understand context and the bigger picture of how the problem you're working on is impacting and benefitting our members
- You love telling a story with data and appreciate the challenge of designing and building a dashboard that helps build a decision support framework for your peers
- You find yourself often building tools to help others solve their problems and try to follow a philosophy of continuous improvement and automation
- You are excited by hard problems and big challenges like improving financial health
It would be a plus if you had:
- 1+ years of experience thinking about consumer use products
- Experience with our stack (BigQuery, dbt, Python, Looker, Mode, Amplitude, Segment)
- Experience with fintech, banking, subscription businesses, or consumer transaction data

Additional information: Minimum salary of $95,000/year + bonus + benefits
