Data Architect - Full-time 
We are looking for a Data Architect to join our growing team. The Data Architect will leverage their business and technical knowledge to develop production-ready data models by integrating multiple data sources. You will collaborate with both business and technical teams to comprehend business strategies and objectives, gather pertinent information, and verify that business requirements are met at every stage of the data and analytics lifecycle.

  • Ability to collect and understand business requirements and translate those requirements into an actionable data warehouse design and implementation plan. 
  • Knowledge of multi-dimensional and tabular design patterns and ability to identify solutions that leverage these modeling techniques. 
  • Ability to work within the SDLC framework in multiple environments and understand the complexities and dependencies of the data warehouse built within those constraints. 
  • Ability to define and implement best practices across database design and ETL. 
  • Ability to direct the work of others, including but not limited to directing ETL development, demonstrating an understanding of key concepts of ETL/ELT, including best practices for optimization and scheduling. 
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate Azure services and technologies to optimize data architecture, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Lead the implementation of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and other relevant tools. 
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to design and implement robust and scalable Azure data architectures, including networking, security, and high availability considerations.

Qualifications 
Education and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role, with a focus on designing and implementing data solutions on the Azure platform. 
  • Proven understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Architecture, and BI. 
  • Proven experience in Azure Synapse. 
  • Experience with data pipelines and architecture/engineering in Azure Data Factory. 
  • Strong knowledge in cloud-based project implementation. 
  • Knowledge of modern applications and data platforms. 
  • Hands on experience in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Scala. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Microsoft Fabric understanding is a plus. 
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate are a plus. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • BI/Data Warehousing (4+ years)  
  • Cloud platforms (2+ years)  
  • Dimensional Data Modeling (3+ years) 
  • ETL (3+ years)  
  • SQL (3+ years) 
  • Business Intelligence (1+ years) - Power BI a plus 
  • Python or Scala (1+ years) 

Work Environment:

  • Remote work from home. 
  • Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Specific business hours will depend on client needs. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. 
  • The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, library stacks, office machinery, etc. 
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer. 
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
