We are looking for a data engineer to join our DevOps team. You will use multiple technologies to transform raw data into useful data systems. You’ll create algorithms and conduct statistical analysis, analyze current data stores and look for ways to make them more efficient. You’ll help grow our data warehouse and develop strategies to increase the knowledge we can extract. Overall, you’ll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals. 
You should have a strong drive to combine data from different sources. A background with SQL and NoSQL database architectures is a big plus.

What you'll do:

    • Analyze, organize, and combine raw data from different sources
    • Build data systems and pipelines
    • Evaluate business needs and objectives
    • Write and maintain ETL jobs 
    • Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling
    • Assist developers with making updates to database schemas and migrations
    • Develop strategy for broad data changes and carry it through to release
    • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
    • Identify opportunities for data acquisition
    • Develop analytical tools and programs
    • Collaborate with data analysts and product management

Who you are:

    • Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
    • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
    • Knowledge of programming languages  (e.g. Java and Python)
    • Knowledge of Kafka and Kubernetes
    • Hands-on experience with SQL database design
    • Degree in Computer Science, Math, IT, or similar work experience
    • Redshift, Postgresql, Mongodb experience a plus
