The Role
The Data & Insights Analyst will be responsible for the analysis, development and delivery of TV, streaming and digital insights to VideoAmp partners. This role will be hands-on with a vast amount of VideoAmp data to analyze trends, create data-driven insights on TV and Video viewership, as well as help power thought leadership initiatives for the organization. The role requires technical skills (such as SQL, R and Python) and a unique ability to combine quantitative and analytical skills for storytelling.
As a Data & Insights Analyst, you will drive custom analytical analysis of TV, Streaming and Digital data assets to deliver insights to partners and the marketplace. You will work alongside the Product, Data, Revenue and Marketing teams to understand core industry trends and formulate a POV around current trends. Your knowledge of the data, trends and predictions will be used for client presentations and thought leadership.
The Analyst will play a key role in helping our partners understand our data products more effectively to create future predictions about their business via strategic storytelling. As a part of the Marketing team, the Data & Insights Analyst will analyze raw data to answer key business questions and will deliver results to stakeholders in an informative, professional way. In addition, you will create repeatable methods to mine data, ensuring consistent results. This role reports to the VP of Product Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Query and analyze large viewership datasets to create collateral around trends and future predictions
- Work with big datasets to investigate performance, issues, metrics and narratives to explain results to partners and stakeholders
- Collaborate with Product and Data Science to build solutions that are repeatable with high levels of accuracy
- Create analyses and presentations that showcase insights on the data
- Apply models on datasets to validate results
- Conduct industry research, perform data quality assurance checks and investigations, analyze large amounts of data, research changes in trends, prepare spreadsheet reports (think Excel) and slide presentations (think Slides), and present findings to existing clients to help them understand the data and gain business value from it
- Develop reports and presentations containing findings, insights, and recommendations that are visually appealing
- Create a thought leadership plan and support it via timely, accurate deliverables
- Excellent written communication skills to break down complex insights into cohesive stories
- Contribute and help author relevant white papers, case studies and videos
Qualifications
- 3-5 Years of experience working in an analytical field and/or a field that specializes in data analysis and problem solving with big data e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Computer Science
- Expert in SQL, or experience leveraging R and Python; experience in Snowflake and/or AWS is highly desirable
- Ability to solve complex problems and think creatively on solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to generate innovative ideas
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite; proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, interest in interpreting and validating data, able to use data to tell a story and connect the dots
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to tailor communication approach
