Who you are

You have led teams previously that have supported multiple groups across an organization. You are comfortable working and directing multiple stakeholders and a diverse set of business processes. You are an experienced player-coach and have developed talent through pair programming and mentorship in the past. You have worked through ambiguity and defined future state processes with data science functionally integrated into business units and marketing decision making. 

You have a second nature level of comfort with SQL, Python, Git, and local / cloud based development environments (e.g. JupyterLabs, Databricks or equivalent). You have comprehensive experience in developing and implementing machine learning models in production systems. You have utilized time-boxed experimentation to optimize data science products to improve business value. You are driven towards DS innovation, have an affinity to be forward-thinking, and have crafted DS products not only for the immediate needs but aligned to where your business is heading in the near future, tied to company goals. You approach problems without pretense, and when presented with a challenge, pick the right tool for the job; introducing new methods when vital but also recognizing when a classical or off-the-shelf solution will suffice.

What the role is

This role is open because we have substantial goals for how Drizly engages with its customer base going forward, the average Drizly customer is more valuable than ever, and the value of a 1% improvement to existing processes is larger than it’s ever been - Data Science Products are instrumental to our Marketing and Strategic Partnerships roadmaps. We need to invest in the analytic firepower and bandwidth to support Marketers at Drizly, and more generally, the Drizly customer. The role will be responsible for leading our Marketing and Strategic Partnerships Data Science team, prioritizing, and executing on the top opportunities identified in the Marketing and SP DS roadmap and collaborating with our broader Marketing, Analytics, and DS organizations. Data science opportunities and frameworks that are implemented by this team will touch all aspects of the Drizly New Customer Acquisition Flywheel; from becoming more than just a ecommerce/delivery platform to for our customers - to driving technology innovation for Marketing and Strategic Partnerships, to partnering with our engineering and data science partners, increasing our usage of recommendation and classification systems, crafting predictive models to facilitate budgetary, attribution, and optimization decisions.

In this role you will:

    • Building and executing  a data science product portfolio that supports our Marketing and Strategic Partnerships teams
    •  Supporting and enabling team members to execute on prioritized opportunities 
    •  Being a thought leader and technical expert on time series and optimization modeling techniques 
    •  Being a change agent within the Marketing and Strategic Partnerships  teams for best-in-class business processes functionally integrated with analytics!
    • Experience owning and managing forecasting, optimization problems built using machine learning and linear / mix-integer programming
    • Experience with statistical methods such as Synthetic Control Method or Design of Experiments
    • Experience using MMM, MTA, Regression and Timeseries Forecasting to determine the value driven by different marketing efforts

For Colorado-based roles: The salary/hourly rate range for this role is $137,141 per year - $161,342 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Drizly's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award, commissions, & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
