Our small group classes meet over live video chat with teachers who celebrate their unique strengths and empower all learners to develop confidence and a strong sense of self.
We're also focused on removing barriers for historically underserved learners who face systemic challenges to their success. In 2020, we started Outschool.org and began offering financial assistance to families in need. We are currently creating an Educator Endowment Fund to appreciate the teachers who are so central to our mission of inspiring kids to love learning.

The Role
Data Scientist (multiple openings), Outschool, Inc. San Francisco, CA. Responsibilities:
Work cross-functionally with multiple internal teams to help shape Outschool’s strategy by
sharing key insights and finding creative ways to use data to problem-solve and improve its
products and services. This entails: translating data into insights and action; defining and
monitoring key company-wide success metrics and OKRs; using visualization, reporting and
other tools to improve how our team accesses and interprets datasets; conducting quantitative
research to dig deeper into pressing analytic questions; creating models to identify important
segmentations and predict outcomes in specific subdomains; building data tools that help us
scale manual processes; and prototyping new data-driven features that increase value for our
learners, families, and teachers. Telecommuting permitted. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in
Math, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field, plus 3 years of
experience in data science or analytics role. Prior experience must include 5 years of experience
with SQL skills and Python or R programming; and 5 years of experience working with data
visualization tools including Mode, Looker, or Tableau. Must successfully complete
