The Role
Data plays an important role in how we make decisions at Outschool. As a data scientist at Outschool, you’ll have an opportunity to work cross-functionally with teammates from Product, Marketing, Operations, and other internal teams as they tackle a variety of challenges and opportunities. You’ll help shape Outschool’s strategy by sharing key insights, digging into some of our most pressing problems, and finding creative ways to use data to improve our products and services.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with teammates across the org to translate data into insights and actions
- Use visualization, reporting and other tools to improve how teams access/interpret data
- Conduct quantitative research to dig deeper into user behavior and product flows
- Build models to identify important segmentations and predict outcomes
- Implement experimentation and testing frameworks to help improve analytical rigor
- Prototype new data-driven features that increase value for our families and teachers
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- 5+ years of experience in an analytics or data science related role
- Expert-level SQL and Python skills
- Prior experience with funnel reporting, attribution modeling, and cohort analysis
- Prior experience with A/B testing and applied statistics (hypothesis testing, regression)
- Prior experience building data visualizations in tools like Looker, Tableau, Mode, etc
- Ability to initiate and lead projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
