About the Job

Data and analytics are the lifeblood of TaskRabbit and we are building a data science team to provide key insights to drive our business forward. 

You will be a member of the Data Group: Data Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning and Data Engineering.  We are a force multiplier, owning the data, analysis, and knowledge infrastructure that enables ourselves and our teammates to move faster and smarter.

As a data scientist focusing on growth, you will work closely with a cross functional team of product managers, marketing managers, designers, and engineers. You will apply various predictive and statistical modeling techniques to solve complex multi-faceted marketplace problems and optimize outcomes for all parties.  You will assist defining metrics and KPIs, design experiments to validate hypotheses and translate data into insights that would improve product, marketing and operational metrics. 

As part of the Data Group, you will collaborate with other Data Scientists, drawing on their technical skills and expertise. Also, you will work with Data Engineers to ensure that the data platform and infrastructure provides you with the data and tools you need to do your job.

Responsibilities:

  • Embed into a user group to support the data needs of the team, and enable stakeholders to make data driven solutions through Data Analysis and Statistical Modeling
  • Partner with the Data Engineering team to help support and build robust data pipelines, deploy ML Models and automate Scripts 
  • Measure the impact of feature deployments through Statistical and Causal Inference
  • Develop ML Models to solve complex two-sided Marketplace problems

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field
  • Minimum 2 years work experience as a Data Scientist or related position
  • Knowledge and experience with the following:
    • Data Analysis and Statistical Modeling
    • SQL (Advanced knowledge)
    • Python (Pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn)
    • Dashboarding and Visualization
    • Measuring Feature Impact (Design of Experiment, A/B Testing, Causal Inference) 
    • Cloud Computing (AWS or GCP)
    • Building Data Pipelines (Experience with DBT and Airflow a bonus)
    • Machine Learning
    • Able to communicate effectively with Stakeholders
