What’s Clyde - Clyde is an end-to-end product protection platform that is rethinking the way retailers increase loyalty and drive revenue, and the way customers manage their purchases. We are tackling the $50B per year extended warranty market and becoming the de facto solution in the space by leveraging an intense focus on product, design, and customer experience. Clyde delivers product protection plans directly to consumers as they shop, owning the relationship from purchase to claim submission to resolution. We know that the relationship between retailers and their customers is far from over after checkout so we’re building products to deliver value at every stage of this relationship.

We’re looking for a thoughtful, results-oriented Data Scientist to drive the development of Clyde’s data and analytics capabilities as we take the business to its next stage of growth. While Clyde is based in NYC, this position can be remote. As a data scientist at Clyde, you will play a pivotal role in the company as you design, deploy, and refine predictive models in collaboration with a talented engineering, product, and go-to-market teams. This position reports directly to the Director of Data Science and Analytics.

An opportunity to...

  • Develop algorithms to predict key metrics, inform pricing decisions, automate operational processes, and identify new business opportunities
  • Scope and deliver product requirements in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders using a combination of experimentation, intuition, and consensus-building
  • Derive business insights and make product recommendations via merchant and end consumer segmentation analysis, merchant cohort analysis, and other deep-dive analysis
  • Identify additional data sources that need to be collected to solve relevant business problems and collaborate with the engineering team on ETL work
  • Communicate problems and solutions at both a high-level to non-technical stakeholders and a detailed level to technical stakeholders to ensure that we are tracking and looking at data in a consistent manner and speaking a common vernacular
  • Create robust, clean workflows and documentation that helps teammates understand and replicate work

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Science role with a strong track record
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Engineering)
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Combination of analytical rigor, resourcefulness, and intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Focused desire to use data to improve the product and user experience
  • Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with business intelligence tools, such as Looker or Mode.
  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms and models
