About The Role

As a Data Scientist at Nana, you'll join a team of skilled engineers in helping to define and implement our data pipeline and science strategy. You will use existing and new tools to help answer questions about the state of the business, the impact of our engineering efforts, and the direction we're headed in. You'll work with Operations, Growth, and Product, to figure out what questions we should be asking - and then help answer them! You'll uncover important insights into the efficient operation of a marketplace and the levers that impact user behavior, and ultimately help propel Nana's growth across orders of magnitude.

About You

• You are an excellent communicator who is able to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• You find clarity in ambiguity, taking initiative to find new ways to solve problems.
• You are a collaborator who is excited to work across multiple teams in the organization.
• You know when something needs to be perfect, and when something needs to be done quickly, and change your approach accordingly.

You Should Have

• An expansive understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
• A deep understanding of SQL and Python, or experience with R and an interest in using Python.
• Ability to communicate complex or ambiguous concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
• Experience building data visualizations and dashboards.
• Experimentation and A/B Testing experience
• ML Model development experience [Nice to Have]
• Able to read JavaScript and work with MongoDB [Nice to Have]

What you Will Do

• You will collaborate with Nana’s Operations and Marketing teams to deliver insights in the form of reports and dashboards.
• You will work within our data warehouse to generate tables that support analyses and data products.
• You will bolster our data request support process by building robust solutions for internal customers.
• You will dive deep into complex business problems and devise data-driven solutions.
• You will work with engineering to put in processes for new data collection to enable better insights in the future.
