Position Overview: 

This Data Scientist position will play a key role in Brilliant Earth’s mission by helping the company better understand how consumers’ Jewelry purchasing behavior evolves over time and across products & categories. Accessing a robust data set including 15 years in direct-to-consumer retail, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and make an impact across the organization, providing backed insights to support strategic decision making. This role is part of the Consumer Insights & Data Analytics organization that reports to the President of Brilliant Earth.

What you’ll do: 

• Create a segmentation model of Brilliant Earth’s consumers based on purchase and site behavior. 
• Using the segmentation, develop a repurchase model for Brilliant Earth consumers to help predict future category and product purchases. 
• Work with the marketing and customer engagement teams to incorporate repurchase insights into future marketing plans. 
• Develop a reporting framework to continuously measure repurchase and lifetime value. 
• Create and continuously improve analytical models to support data-driven decision making across the organization, such as pricing, promotions and broader marketing analysis.  
• Work cross functionally and collaboratively to ensure that the insights are incorporated across company plans from marketing to product development to the showroom experience.  

You’re a great candidate if you have: 

• 5+ years of relevant Data Analytics experience  
• Experience in consumer segmentation and developing a data-based cohort model 
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences 
• Robust analytic, quantitative, and data interpretation skills, ability to transform data into actionable insights 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced professional environment 
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Google Analytics and Javascript are a plus 
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred
