Position Overview:  

The Director of Consumer Insights & Data Analytics will play a key role in Brilliant Earth’s mission by helping the company better understand how consumers think and act through the Jewelry purchase.

In this role, you will lead a team with three key focus areas:

  • Consumer Insights: Develop insights on the path to purchase for jewelry consumers as well as tracking the progress of Brilliant Earth’s brand over time. 

  • Consumer Segmentation: Identify key segments across Brilliant Earth consumers, looking at a comprehensive set of factors including channel of purchase (E-commerce vs. showroom) and type of products purchased over time. 

  • Marketing Data and Analytics: Measure and develop insights based on E-commerce and CRM performance of Brilliant Earth. 

To achieve these goals, the team will work cross-functionally and collaboratively to ensure that the insights of their work are incorporated across company plans from marketing to product development to the showroom experience.

What you’ll do:  

Consumer Insights 

  • Lead path to purchase research for Brilliant Earth across categories 
  • Develop insights on how consumer attitudes toward categories are shifting and impacting where and how they shop 
  • Understand the key factors in E-commerce and showroom experience for Brilliant Earth 
  • Develop a Brand Tracker for Brilliant Earth that tracks changes in awareness, familiarity and consideration over time 

Consumer Segmentation 

  • Develop consumer cohort and purchase behavior analyses across purchase channels, to better understand and drive repurchase and lifetime value 
  • Work with the marketing and customer engagement teams to incorporate repurchase insights into future marketing plans 
  • Develop a reporting framework to continuously measure repurchase & lifetime value 

Marketing Data & Analytics

  • Provide analytics services and insights to stakeholders within the E-commerce team 
  • Identify new areas to increase overall site conversion, optimize performance and improve customer experience 
  • Lead and educate teams on digital analytics. Glean insights from behavioral data and create self-service analytics reporting structure 
  • Ensure analytics results drive consumer experience while achieving market sales plans 
  • Identify growth opportunities by analyzing user behavior, navigation patterns, page performance and conversion funnels 
  • Foster a test and learn culture with A/B testing strategy, analysis and recommendations 

You’re a great candidate if you have: 

  • 8+ years of relevant Consumer Insights and Digital Analytics leadership experience  
  • Experience measuring E-commerce and customer relationship management metrics 
  • Familiarity with leading Consumer Insights research  
  • Experience in consumer segmentation and developing a data-based cohort model 
  • The ability to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences 
  • Strong analytic, quantitative, and data interpretation skills, ability to transform data into actionable insights 
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional  environment 
  • Knowledge of digital marketing initiatives is preferred (Paid Search, SEO, Affiliates, Display) and a strong understanding of marketing channels 
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Google Analytics and Javascript are a plus 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred
