Job Description


In this internship you will be expected to:

  • Use predictive modeling, statistics, machine learning, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and extract insights from the structure and unstructured data.
  • Develop software, algorithms, and applications to apply mathematics to data, perform large scale experimentation and build data driven apps to translate data into intelligence, solve a variety of business problems and enable business strategy.
  • Assist the business with causal inference and with finding patterns and relationships in data.

The candidate must exhibit written and verbal communication skills.

This is a 3-month internship and compensation will be given accordingly based on candidate education level.


Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:


You must be actively pursuing a MS degree or PhD degree in Statistics or Data Science or Operation Research or equivalent disciplines with 6+ months' experience in the following:

-Advanced statistical methodology, probability theory, linear models.
-Database structures, research methods, machine learning, Cloud based technologies, or Big Data technologies i.e., Hadoop, HBase, Lucene/Solr, analytics packages i.e., R, Mahout, Matlab, Octave, Weka.

-Scripting languages i.e., Python, Perl, JMP/JSL, programming languages i.e., Java, C/C++, SQL, SAS, L, or R.


Preferred Qualifications:

6+ months of knowledge/experience in the following:


-Experience teaching or as a teaching assistant at university level.
-Experience with unsupervised learning techniques.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $63,000.00-$166,000.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model


This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
