JOB POSTING COMPANY NAME: Yipit, LLC POSITION TITLE: Data Specialist POSITION DUTIES: Key producer of Yipit’s data products received by its institutional investor clients. Utilize Python and SQL to sharpen existing skills by running Yipit’s growing portfolio of data products and systematically aggregating and analyzing big data. Conduct data collection, QA, analysis, and prediction by building pipelines to scrape available web data and email receipt data of publicly listed companies using Python, Databricks, and internal tools. Work with massive amounts of data on the performance of important companies, using proprietary methods. Learn and implement vital techniques on ensuring data accuracy and deriving key insights across a number of types of data. Develop proprietary source of alternative data and perform statistical analyses and quality assurance checks on datasets to ensure data accuracy. Create and write data reports that are consumed by the top investors in the world. Gain insight into how investors think about companies and the most important questions they need to answer to make stock portfolio decisions. Maintain and develop data products, collaborate with Equity Research team to draft reports on equity investment recommendations, and explain important features of data products to the Sales team and clients. DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Analytics, Quantitative Analytics/Research, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Manipulating data structure; Python programming skill; SQL; Investment Analysis; Research; and Statistics. Skills may be gained through academic coursework and concurrently while pursuing academic studies.
