About the role:

The Director, GTM Data Governance Strategy will build and lead large-scale, transformational projects supporting the integrity and availability of critical data for the Sales organization. This role requires a passion for building data governance strategy and process. Successful candidates have a strong analytical business acumen, a curiosity to improve operations, and a demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional alignment.

In this role, you will: 

  • Build data governance strategy to measurably improve data accuracy and completeness to effectively improve how Samsara goes to market and services our prospects and customers
  • Standardize data governance process by setting data quality standards, including mapping field structures and definitions
  • Develop and scale standardized operating models to build best in class customer data, including publishing data governance scorecards and dashboards
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Sales and other departments, such as Marketing, Finance, and Systems to drive data management prioritization
  • Shape data strategy roadmap that leads to business value realization, including investment plan and business case development
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility in a Sales Operations or like function, ideally in a SaaS environment with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience
  • Proven track record launching transformational, cross-functional projects that measurably increase team productivity and/or customer outcomes
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on business priorities and derive insights from data to inform judgements
  • Proven track record of building trust and communicating effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders: executives, functional leadership, frontline managers
  • Diplomacy, tact, and poise under pressure when working through issues
  • Experience implementing a standardized prioritization process is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year institution
