We are looking for an experienced leader in data and analytics to build the team that will enable the rest of the business to make data-driven decisions. Reporting to the SVP of Telemedicine, you will build the core business health infrastructure to deliver a singular goal: every patient gets access to timely, high quality, affordable healthcare. The Director of Business Health Analytics will be the key advisor to the SVP of Telemedicine to help build the data-driven foundation which powers business decisions at Hims & Hers, from executive-level strategy to day-to-day operational execution.

Within one month, you will…

  • Study and become an expert in Hims & Hers products, customers, business model, and our values
  • Get to know the rest of the Telemedicine, Analytics, Operations, and Medical Affairs teams, and meet your counterparts across the rest of the organization 
  • Shadow members of the team as they fulfill ad hoc data requests (e.g. “why did MAUs spike in June and fall back in July?”), run proactive analyses (e.g. “what are leading indicators that drive retention?”), and execute larger projects (e.g. “identify the real-time metrics, and levers, that sustain marketplace liquidity”)
  • Identify key team needs and work with the SVP, Operations to do team capacity and headcount planning

Within three months, you will…

  • Complete an audit of our existing data pipelines, and work with the team to build a plan to address near-term pains and long-term architecture planning
  • Become comfortable with our end-user analytics tools (Looker, Amplitude) and begin to think through the model to support the rest of the company via end user training, increased self-service usage, and analytics team support prioritization
  • Be interviewing candidates to fill key roles on the team

Within six months, you will…

  • Be a trusted advisor to leadership across the company on analytical matters
  • Be tracking operational key performance indicators for all service lines
  • Have established a culture on the analytics team of being more proactive and less reactive
  • Be in process of building a team, systems, and processes that can support the business as it grows by multiples in the coming years

Responsibilities: 

  • Build and manage high performance, responsive teams of data scientists, analysts, and data engineers that are able to gather and synthesize data quickly and accurately.
  • Build for scale: identify, codify, and implement core platform for data-driven decision-making across multiple business lines, modalities, and treatment types.
  • Think through complex problems, determine proper analytical processes and procedures, independently derive conclusions, and present results to the organization. 
  • Measure impact of product through the creation of KPIs to help measure against business outcomes.
  • Lead the organization by identifying growth optimization opportunities; collaborating cross functionally to structure, measure, and execute tests; driving adoption and knowledge at all levels of the organization
  • Challenge status quo: initiate and debate key strategic topics and opportunities from your team’s work, and drive bold high-impact decisions  
  • Leverage internal and external data to identify growth opportunities, providing data-driven recommendations for business expansion
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, engineering, operations, finance, and marketing to define and build data-informed business strategy and roadmaps
  • Partner with data engineering team, technology architects and software developers to empower our lines of businesses with business intelligence

Experience:

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to senior, cross-functional stakeholders
  • 10+ years experience in a Product focused company in areas such as data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics
  • 5+ years of experience hiring, managing, and developing high performing teams
  • Ability to contextualize data and insights within the business context, collaborating with, communicating findings to, technical and non-technical teammates
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth and rapidly changing environment
  • Expertise in at least one scripting language (python, R)
  • Experience with Excel and data visualization software (Looker/Tableau a plus)
