Our unique, rapidly growing data streams are enabling novel opportunities to manage clinical trials more efficiently and predictably. The Data department is looking for a talented Director of Data Products to build, mentor, and guide existing teams as they develop novel machine learning solutions and productize data science efforts that enhance the intelligence of our solutions offering. If you are empathetic, business-driven, and want to use your machine learning and leadership skills to make a tangible impact in the clinical research community then this may be the role for you.

As a fast-growing company, we're looking for people who can effectively balance rapid execution and delivery with sustainable and scalable machine learning initiatives to serve the business most effectively. You have strong opinions, weakly held, and while well-versed technically know when to choose the right tool, for the right job, at the right level of complexity. You will work closely with our Data Engineering and Data Science & Analytics divisions, and the Product and Product Engineering departments to deliver enterprise-ready intelligence solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Collaborating with the Head of Data and Directors of Data Engineering and Analytics to plan and execute Data’s strategic roadmap effectively
  • Supporting systems design and selection of new technologies to support effective department execution
  • Ensuring the scalable growth and execution of our Data Products division, including oversight of one or more teams engaging in the development and scaling of ModelOps/MLOps systems and performing tactical R&D and delivery of machine learning solutions which support strategic company priorities
  • Acting as a resource to help unblock and provide technical guidance to our Data Products leads
  • Becoming intimately familiar with HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable regulatory frameworks and how they influence our architecture and development decisions, especially for historically underrepresented or underserved populations
  • Living our data philosophy, which focuses on ethical decision making, being aware of how biased data (and assumptions) can affect results (and people), and being laser-focused on business needs

What You Bring To Reify Health

  • At least 4 years of demonstrated success managing multiple data science or machine learning-oriented teams as they executed and delivered sustainable solutions in an enterprise-scale environment, ideally in the health or clinical domains
  • Deep practical experience in the application of machine learning and data science techniques to solving company problems, potentially including areas such as: information extraction, expert systems, NLP, optimization, probabilistic inference, neural networks, supervised/unsupervised learning
  • Ability to understand not only how to use a technique but why it is or is not appropriate in a given situation, with available data, and for specific business needs
  • Some experience with our stack, including technologies such as: Python, Clojure, SQL, R, AWS (Redshift, S3, MSK, Lambda), dbt, Postgres, Prefect, Terraform, Docker
  • Experience in developing or managing the development of scalable ModelOps/MLOps solutions and related systems for testing and retraining of models
  • Advanced degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or other related field
