• Build and lead a team of software and data engineers

• Support and grow your direct reports and partner with peer teams

• Working closely with product and data science, help engineers gain business context, improve prioritization skills, and hone their craft

• Encourage long-term thinking on best practices for data system design and data engineering standards

• Promote an engaged, product-focused, positive engineering culture

• Uncover better ways of developing data applications by doing it and helping others do it

• BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• 5+ years of experience building production software systems

• 3+ years managing teams of engineers in the domain of data engineering, data platforms, or data intensive applications

• History of independently leading ground-up projects and prioritizing work based on business impact

• Expertise guiding teams as they break down complex problems, define solutions, and sequence work to align with long-term goals

• Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail

• Experience hiring, mentoring, and leading teams of software engineers and data engineers
