About Datadog
We're on a mission to build the best platform in the world for engineers to understand and scale their systems, applications, and teams. We operate at high scale—trillions of data points per day—allowing for seamless collaboration and problem-solving among Dev, Ops and Security teams globally for tens of thousands of companies. Our engineering culture values pragmatism, honesty, and simplicity to solve hard problems the right way.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
The team
The Cloud FinOps team is responsible for all things cloud cost related, which includes providing engineering teams with meaningful cloud spend visibility, empowering finance and executive leadership to understand the complexities of cloud costs, securing the best reservation discount rates, and identifying cost savings opportunities. Having worked on these problems for a few years, we already have a lot of the basics covered, and we’re looking to push our team’s capabilities to the next level.
The opportunity
As a FinOps Analyst, you will work closely with our Finance team to improve our detailed cost modeling forecasts (AWS, GCP, and Azure), investigate why observed cloud cost changes are occurring, improve our understanding of how our revenue ties to our cloud usage, and drive cost allocations. You will use Datadog, BI visualization tools, SQL, and spreadsheet wizardry to build cost models and discover meaningful insights about cloud usage. There may also be opportunities to work on cost visibility, optimization, and reservation management, but initially you’ll be focused on supporting the needs of our partners in Finance.
