Job Description

As a member of the People Analytics team, you’ll be joining us on our journey to leverage people data and related insights enabling better, transparent, data driven talent decisions.

People Analytics is not new to Blue Cross NC as we’ve been developing our capability for several years and have built a foundation of leading HR and people analytics technology and tools to enable our work. As part of the People Analytics team centralized within Human Resources, you’ll have the opportunity to influence from within, translating business problems into relevant business analytics questions and providing reporting and analysis to a diverse group of stakeholders and leaders. You’re work to connect the dots and identify top trends and drivers can impact all aspects of the employee experience and our culture.  

You’ll join a strong group of Analysts who enjoy collaboration and are highly engaged in the current people analytics work.

In this role, you will focus on expanding our enterprise learning and development analytics and work with peers to provide solutions for other people analytics reporting and analytics. This work includes data collection, trending, analytics, reporting and forecasting functions using strong data quality and governance practices.  You will:

  • Refine existing reports & dashboards to support business needs and create new reporting as needed
  • Provide support to extract and analyze data from different systems including Workday, Visier, and other Learning and Development technology
  • Identify trends and participate in problem-solving investigation and analyses to make recommendations to business areas to effectively assist them with decision making on operational or other business issues
  • Develop, implement, and maintain consistent processes for data quality controls to ensure data integrity and make recommendations to improve data integrity
  • Serve as Point of contact for audit processes and procedures
  • Suggest procedural changes as necessary to provide the level of reporting required
  • Develop and maintain document processes to generate reports
  • Research, gather, prepare, and substantially edit reports, graphics and other materials
  • Present findings and recommendations to business areas using effective visualization and communication methods
  • Will represent department on project teams and process optimization efforts that require analysis, interviews, procedure design, documentation and implementation
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports for distribution and provide ongoing user support for ad hoc reporting, questions, queries, and problem support

Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of experience with data analysis and preparation including use of statistical methods and experience with very large data sets using Python, R or other programming language
  • If no degree, 5 years of experience as stated above and/or within data analysis function focused on trend analysis, dashboards, visualization, and data driven decision making.
  • Experience in presenting data findings/analysis and making business recommendations to leadership staff

Hiring Preferences

  • Experience with Workday Learning or Workday Report Writing (HCM)
  • Experience with People, Talent or Learning Analytics
  • Strong consultative, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent quantitative, problem solving and analytic skills
  • Ability to perform with a high degree of independence
