The Senior Manager of Data Operations is a staff member of the Operational Data Solutions Delivery Team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of data pipelines, integrations, and M&E of the cloud-based DAL (Data Access Layer) platform.

This person will own end to end code deployments and release lifecycle ensuring each is thoroughly in support of all audit and compliance requirements. As primary point of contact for all incidents and outages relating to DAL processes and job cycles, this role would provide an excellent opportunity to work with cross functional teams and senior leaders. Triaging through resolution by working with internal and external sources including the Corporate Incident Management Team and communicating with Senior Leadership by providing continuous status updates through issue resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Work across various teams and across all disciplines to review release plans, and customer incidents to help drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive execution excellence, overall service quality, incident response, security and compliance, and operational excellence across the team.
  • Leverage a strong ability to influence without direct authority, with the goal of helping the entire organization release high quality software efficiently
  • Manage data ingestion from a myriad of data sources and integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Own responsibility and accountability of SLAs for batch and real-time data transformations.
  • Triaging through resolution by working with internal and external sources including the Corporate Incident and Change Management teams.
  • Be a thought leader in building highly scalable, elastic and fault tolerant cloud applications for 100% up time.
  • Facilitate bi-weekly quality and operational reviews and execution reviews across the organization.
  • Facilitate with cloud compliance, security, privacy, certifications to ensure that the CI product satisfies the requirements of all important dimensions
  • Work closely with vendor partners for certifications, renewals, audits, privacy, onboarding, training, etc.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Product Management and business partners to successfully deliver quality product features end to end.
  • Keep up to date with the latest in privacy regulations in all markets and clouds environments.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and templates to ensure consistency.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience with data engineering, ETL design/development or data operations areas.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with tools like AWS Glue, Talend, Informatica, Databricks, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in database development using relational SQL (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL), and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS is highly desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with DevSecOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery technologies is desirable.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java or Scala.
  • Experience with building applications with serverless architecture on AWS platforms using Athena, Glue, EC2, Lambda, Kenesis, Kafka, Airflow.
  • AWS Solution Architect certification (associate & above) is highly desirable.
  • Healthcare domain knowledge is a huge plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Team Management Skills.
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
