The Junior Research Analyst (Junior Analyst) is responsible for assisting senior personnel in all tasks related to conducting public opinion surveys, including sample design, questionnaire design, data analysis, quality control, preparing presentation, and writing. The Junior Analyst will report to the Director of Research Solutions and will be integrated into a small, highly collaborative team and can expect significant training and support to get up to speed on internal procedures and industry best practices.
LOCATION: REMOTE
SALARY RANGE: $50,000 – $65,000
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with background research and questionnaire development.
- Produce counts and quotas for survey research.
- Program online surveys.
- Monitor the fielding of surveys for accuracy.
- Audit reports including questionnaires, toplines, banner books, and time series.
- Analyze survey data and produce slide decks and summary memos with supervision from senior staff.
- Conduct custom analyses in response to client needs.
- Audit slide decks and memos produced by Senior Research Analysts.
- Attend and participate in client meetings/conference calls.
- Manage time to meet internal and client-driven timelines.
- Other duties as needed.
NEED TO HAVE:
- Attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and writing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Enthusiasm to learn new software and processes.
- Some familiarity using data software (like Excel, SPSS, STATA, R, or Python).
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and work extended hours during the height of campaign season.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Commitment to open, honest, and transparent communication.
- Team player who is also able to work independently under light supervision.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Commitment to Democratic candidates and the progressive movement.
- Previous work in political data or data analytics.
- Political campaign experience.
- Spanish language fluency (written and conversational).
