About the Role

Suma is seeking a growth oriented data leader to design, build and scale our data infrastructure. Our platform relies and thrives on robust data, and this critical role is at the center of it all. In role you’ll lead big projects, integrate data from a variety of sources, model data, and deploy tools that power the business. You will be a key partner to teams across the company, assuring they have the information they need to make the best decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead data architecture decisions, design and build scalable infrastructure to provide teams seamless access to data and insights
• Drive data intrascture strategy; oversee the sourcing of data from a variety of sources and tools to do so (ETL tools)
• Design efficient data housing, transformation and querying (Redshift, SQL)
• Implement and oversee business intelligence software to serve end users
• Design, build and deploy insight oriented data models
• Work closely with teams across the company to meet their data needs; play a key role in institutionalizing a data driven culture

Requirements

• 4+ years experience in data engineering or Business Intelligence role
• Resilient, detail oriented, self-starter
• Advanced experience with common BI tools such as Power BI or Looker
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze large amounts of data
• Skilled at processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis; technical familiarity with data models and database design development
• Familiarity with common statistical models; experience with R or python a plus
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
