The Role:
DailyPay is looking for a Machine Learning DevOps Engineer to architect, deploy and monitor critical predictive, machine learning models to better understand our business, our revenue growth, and our long-term financial success. This position will work with software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists to expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture.
Our applications make millions of dollars available to employees every day preventing late fees, use of predatory lending, and offering clarity into earned wages. We need an expert who can support the deployment, uptime, and reliability of our teams’ services.
The mission of the Data Team is critical for continuous development and success of our product, understanding the needs of our customers and partners, and maintaining DailyPay’s leading role in the early wage access industry - - and the Machine Learning Engineer will be instrumental in helping to realize this vision for DailyPay.
As a member of this team, you’ll work with data scientists, data analysts, database architects and software engineers to build, deploy, monitor and maintain ML models and services using resources provided by the infrastructure team.

How You Will Make an Impact:
- Build distributed, real-time, high-volume data pipelines and work together with others to enable high-scale Data Science / Machine Learning
- Ensure applications are engineered to effectively collect and monitor increasingly complex data
- Enable us to operate at high scale—trillions of data points per day—providing always-on alerting, metrics visualization, logs, and application tracing
- Transform data science prototypes into production grade code / models with appropriate guardrails
- Build, test, validate and evaluate ML models using various relevant error and performance metrics
- Use cloud monitoring services like Datadog to provide observability, so we can easily debug, scale, and tune our applications
- Design monitoring systems to track key metrics like changes in data distribution, training-serving skew, model drift, system latency, etc.
- Explain analytics model behavior / results in the vernacular of the market need
- Derive insights about the usage, adoption and value of DailyPay products
What You Bring to The Team:
- Experience with a mix of backend programming, operations, and working with data pipelines, data warehouses and deploying ML models
- You also have significant experience building high throughput/low latency systems
- 3+ years of experience developing applications or their deployment mechanisms, including testing, scaling, and monitoring
- 4+ years of Data Science and Machine Learning experience
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and their primary services and configuration
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Javascript, or Java (Preferred: Python and Ruby)
- Experience in Data Warehousing and Data Lake buildouts (Knowledge of Snowflake, Redshift, and ETL tools like Fivetran or Stitch is a plus)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- You have a natural curiosity and an investigative mentality; you’re driven by the “why”
- Experience in deploying applications in containers (Docker, etc.) and automated deployment
- Experience with Kafka
Nice to Haves:
