We are looking for a technical manager with a passion for working on business-facing automation products. You will join the Document Extraction team and recruit, guide, and mentor a world-class team of Machine Learning Engineers. The ideal candidate would be comfortably guiding the ML team’s immediate projects and long-term roadmap and working with the product engineering team to implement new products powered by state-of-art ML technologies.

This is a crucial role in the ML department, with a significant contribution to the company's future. You will have a chance to work across the complete machine learning lifecycle, including data collection/generation, model building, training, testing, and releasing. By partnering with multiple ML teams and product engineering teams, you will shape and define a completely new product area. 

We are looking for an engineering leader ready to deliver revolutionary products powered by deep learning technologies in the business automation area. You will get to work with a group of talented ML engineers to create simple, reusable abstractions for performing complex machine learning tasks.

Qualifications

    • 3+ years of industry experience using data-driven approaches to solve real-world problems through building an ML-related product from end-to-end, including data collection, modeling training, experiment, and release
    • 2+ year(s) leadership experience as an engineering manager or technical lead for a group of engineers or data scientists - coaching, road mapping, and project management
    • Expertise in machine learning for deep learning, content understanding technologies, especially in NLP or CV related areas
    • Experience building scalable machine learning systems and data-driven products working with cross-functional teams
    • Well-developed software engineering fundamentals and the ability to write production code when needed
    • Good communication skills and the ability to understand and synthesize requirements across multiple project domains
    • Works effectively with cross-functional teams to build a trusted partnership
    • Able to guide applied research projects and bring them to production
    • Strong experience with one or more general-purpose languages (Java, C/C++, Python, etc).

Nice to have

    • 5+ years of industry experience and 3+ management experience for ML engineering teams
    • Experience in B2B companies focusing on automation (RPA)
    • M.Sc./Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, machine learning, or related quantitative field
    • Hands-on experience with modern deep learning frameworks like Keras, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
