About the Role:

Cars.com is seeking an entrepreneurial and collaborative Marketing Analytics professional to join our Site Analytics team, where we build a deep understanding of our users and customers and embed data-driven decision making across the enterprise.

As a leader and advanced analytics practitioner, you will leverage marketing platform and clickstream data of our millions of users to derive insights and recommendations for optimizing Marketing’s contribution to key outcomes. Projects will cover all facets of data activation including facilitation of Marketing data collection and pipelines, building intuitive dashboards and visualizations, and conducting deep multi-channel behavioral analyses.

This is a highly collaborative role where you will partner closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and other marketing leaders to integrate analytics and data into channel strategies, initiatives, and experiments. The ideal candidate will have a robust mix of technical and leadership skills, with a passion for optimization, data storytelling, and cross-functional partnership.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Drive analysis of marketing channel performance and interactions across the customer car-buying journey, partnering with Marketing and Product to identify opportunities for optimization in media mix, content, and website and app experiences
  • Develop robust analytical methodologies and attribution models to measure marketing efficacy and attribute to customer value delivery
  • Lead project development and analysis execution with our Senior Inventory and Vehicle Data Analyst to optimize marketing performance in context to marketplace conditions and dealership inventory mix
  • Build intuitive, automated dashboards to empower Marketers with timely, actionable data and develop program and campaign analyses and insights
  • Lead A/B/n test development and implementation across performance marketing channels and CRM campaigns, partnering with Experimentation team for robust experiment design and statistical rigor
  • Partner with Analytics Engineering to facilitate robust campaign and behavioral measurement
  • Create requirements and facilitate development of data pipelines from our multitude of marketing platforms into our AWS data lake
  • Identify valuable audience targeting segments, while deepening understanding of content and strategies that drive engagement and conversion throughout the customer lifecycle

Experience:

  • 6+ years experience as a data analyst, with demonstrated expertise in marketing analytics (required)
  • Experience leading cross-functional analytics initiatives (required)
  • Experience leading and coaching direct reports (preferred)
  • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling a plus

Required Technical Skills

Advanced skills and knowledge of the following:

  • Digital analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics. Experience working with raw clickstream data a plus (Adobe or Google BigQuery)
  • Marketing analytics (e.g. media mix models, incrementality analysis) and mining data across a suite of digital marketing platform sources (Google Ads, Facebook, etc.)
  • Intermediate to expert proficiency with SQL
  • Data visualization tools such as Tableau (preferred), Power BI, Looker, Domo, or R-Shiny
