The Role: 

As the Manager of Product Analytics, you will partner with Product teams in making data-driven decisions to create products that align with company goals. You will operationalize a team that will provide both long-term strategic insights to encourage growth of platform users, and will build a process for ensuring that data analysis and KPI setting and tracking is at the forefront of Newsela’s product development process. As a manager you’ll grow and develop a team that generates user-behavior insights to influence how Newsela can create a more meaningful experience for our teachers and students.

You’ll work closely with Product leadership, manage and hire a team of data analysts tasked with deeply understanding key user growth and engagement metrics, and empower our product managers to build a delightful experience leveraging data. You’ll impact high-level Product strategy and be able to connect all the insights together as a story about our users. Your work will meaningfully drive impact on the learning and teaching experience of over 37 million students and 2.5 million teachers to help improve the future of K-12 education. 

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 5+ years experience with consumer product analytics, specifically analyzing user behaviors. You’re advanced in your statistics and SQL technical skills, can write your own SQL code, and can read and provide feedback on Python code, all while ensuring your teams are documenting work and following code control processes. You’re adept at mentoring and code review work with your team, and excited to continue growing your people management experience by ensuring your team members are thriving and growing professionally. You have experience working with diverse product teams and excel at communicating to stakeholders across a variety of audiences internally, translating data insights into actionable product development plans and establishing KPIs. You naturally enjoy visualizing data and coming up with efficient ways to present it in coherent stories to your audiences. You have people management experience and are dedicated to ensuring that your team members are thriving and growing professionally.
