About the Data Science Team
The Data Science team empowers Thumbtack to use data to guide business decisions. We collaborate with partners across the company to solve the most analytically challenging problems -- everything from how we set prices across hundreds of local services categories, to evaluating the impact of a new business model on company performance, to identifying early predictors of high-quality customers. We are a tight-knit, intellectually curious team that is committed to improving Thumbtack and improving each other.
The Manager, Data Science will be a cross-functional leader who will help us build out an effective product experience and matching effectiveness to ensure high quality connections are made between Thumbtack customers and pros. As a part of our data science team, you’ll work collaboratively with peers across product management, engineering, design, applied science, and other functions. The ideal candidate is able to lead others with analytical rigor, influence senior stakeholders with data, clearly articulate and execute top priorities and last but not least, grow, motivate and maximize the impact of a team of experienced product analysts.
Responsibilities:
The Manager, Data Science has a well-balanced mix of responsibilities including deep analytics, team management, product strategy and product development.

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $191,250 - $247,500. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
