About You

As a mid-level software engineer on Detection Serving & Signals, focused on our Signals Platform, you will be responsible for making feature developments at Abnormal a fast, responsive, stable, and confident experience for our Machine Learning Engineers.

We are looking for software engineers with the following qualities:

  • An ability to iterate in real-time - solving novel problems, quickly and autonomously

In this job, you will bring these skills

  • Professional experience building and improving batch processing infrastructure using: Spark, Hadoop, Map Reduce, or similar
  • Professional experience with stream processing technologies, like: Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink, or similar
  • Experience with common workflow orchestration frameworks, such as Airflow
  • Nice to have: experience with Databricks
  • Nice to have: domain-specific experience with any combination of the following: 
    • Common ML frameworks, like: Tensorflow, Pytorch, ONNX
    • Familiarity with building Feature Store components
    • Experience with a production ML system

Role Responsibilities

  • Build scalable offline processing to power Abnormal’s Feature Store using batch processing technologies such as Spark
  • Build real-time and near real-time frameworks that allow us to ingest define, ingest, and operate the most impactful signals to Detection Efficacy for all of Abnormal Detection Products
  • Automate the MLE workflow by making model training, experimentation, and evaluation more automated, stable, and reliable
