As ATB’s next Principal Data Scientist within the Advance Analytics & Artificial Intelligence team, you are on a mission to take AI out of the lab and help ATB and our clients to realize the immediate value of this fast-paced technology. To do this, you will steer the vision, goals and milestones across a growing portfolio of cloud-based AI Products.

  • Lead the execution and delivery of a growing portfolio of Data/AI Products that advance ATBs capabilities and allow us to execute against our data monetization strategy.
  • Actively partners with technical thought leaders including Distinguished Data Scientists and other Principal data scientists on the design and strategy for AI capabilities, and owns a clear vision based on value-driven outcomes aligned to enterprise strategy.
  • Manage partner vendors to ensure successful delivery of AI products and solutions.
  • Coordinates with their direct leader and with business stakeholders on all aspects of AI delivery, thereby ensuring alignment and ongoing clarity into a complex body of work.
  • Actively contributes to an evolving culture of applied AI at ATB, driving engagement and thought leadership
  • Uses data to re-evaluate and redesign existing products and practices to improve team outcomes.
  • Collaborates on design of data science projects, ML/AI algorithm development and models
  • Collaborates with database designers, developers and operations to productionalize AI models
  • Advises & mentors more junior data scientists on project workflows including: EDA, model selection and validation, bias testing, operational considerations etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence interacting with technical team members from diverse backgrounds, as well as senior leadership and executives. This includes expertise with storytelling through data.
  • Demonstrates a sound understanding of mathematics and statistics.
  • Solid grasp of software development/engineering principles, algorithms, and processes (including Agile delivery practice).
  • Expert knowledge of Python and SQL.
  • Experience working with technologies like Big Query, C3.ai, Tensor flow etc.
  • Experience building AI recommendation products to improve advisory services in the financial services a plus
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or other quantitative field
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant data science experience (preference for experience working in Financial Institutions)
  • Demonstrable portfolio of successful experience with deploying AI solutions (preferably cloud-based) - whether applied in industry, academic or other settings.
